Introduction:

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17
  • When we think about authority in our lives, we often picture laws, leaders, or personal convictions that guide our decisions. But for the follower of Christ, there is a higher unshakable authority. The very Word of God. In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, Paul reminds Timothy that “All Scripture is breathed out by God” and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
  • This passage is not just a theological statement. It is a declaration that the Bible is not merely a collection of ancient writings or moral suggestions. It is the living, inspired voice of God, carrying His authority into every area of our lives. In a world where truth is often treated as relative and shifting, Scripture stands as an unchanging foundation, shaping our beliefs, guiding our actions, and equipping us for God’s purpose.
  • Today, we will explore what it means for Scripture to be our ultimate authority. Why we can trust it, how it speaks with divine power, and how it equips us to live faithfully in a culture that often challenges God’s truth.
