Introduction:

  • Matthew 28:18-20
  • Family, before Jesus ascended into heaven, He left His followers with words that would shape the heartbeat of the Church for all generations. In Matthew 28:18-20, often called The Great Commission, Jesus does not just give a suggestion, He gives a mission.
  • This mission is not reserved for pastors, missionaries, or church leaders alone; it is the calling of every believer. It is a reminder that our faith is not meant to be hidden within the walls of a building, but lived out in the streets, workplaces, homes, and nations.
  • Jesus begins by declaring, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” That means the One sending us is the One who reigns overall. He commands us to go, to make disciples, to baptize, and to teach. And He seals this mission with a promise. “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
