John 12:12-19
Introduction
● This year, the eclipse of 2024 is supposed to bring in approximately
700,000 people to the Garland County Area.
● Imagine Jerusalem during the time of Passover and the week of Feast of
Unleavened Bread Celebration. During Jesus’ time, Jerusalem had a
population of around 50,000 residents, but during this special week, the
population would be over two million.
● Jesus had just performed the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead.
Jesus is anointed in Bethany. There is a plot to kill Jesus because the “the
higher ups” could feel their power slipping through their grasp.
● But here we are, the time has come. The Kingdom is here and the King of
Kings has arrived.
● The Triumphal Entry ushered in Jesus’ final week before his crucifixion. He
was gathering a greater following. Shouts of Hosanna could be heard.
